Innovation: 3-D Printing, Simulation, and Freeze Drying

Innovation is a challenge in many industries because of technical challenges and challenges of funding, cycles of enthusiasm, and culture change.  This presentation will explore methods to recognize and overcome those challenges by discovering the mix of drivers, and providing value along the journey of turning an idea into an innovation, and eventually a new standard.  Illustrations from 3-D printing of tablets and medical implants, modeling and simulation of fluidized bed unit operations, and recent advances in freeze drying show the challenges and methods to overcome them.
