Jim Terkovich and Allan Berman of Engineering Resource Group (ERG) will be presenting resume writing advice and interviewing tips.
Since 1991, ERG, located in Morris Plains, NJ, has specialized in supplying engineers, designers, drafters, and technicians in direct / permanent and contract / temporary positions including Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural / Civil, Electronics / Hardware and Software Engineers.
ERG has placed Process Engineers, Project Engineers, Environmental Engineers, Process Safety Engineers, and R&D / Pilot Plant Engineers.
Allan Berman is a Senior Recruiter at Engineering Resource Group. Allan graduated Rutgers University in 1988 with a degree in Chemical Engineering (option in Biochemical Engineering). Prior to joining Engineering Resource Group’s team, he served in various engineering sales and marketing positions for process equipment, laboratory equipment, and environmental systems.
Jim Terkovich is President of Engineering Resource Group and has a BS and MBA from Rutgers University. Jim served in marketing and management positions at the Cadbury and Nabisco divisions of Kraft Foods. Since becoming a partner at ERG, Jim has developed a state-of-the-art candidate database, classifying job seekers by their skills and industry specialties which more quickly and efficiently finds matching available candidates for positions. As the company expanded, Jim carefully selected recruiters that he felt would maintain and enhance ERG’s reputation of professionalism, and he developed a shared recruiter commission structure unique to the staffing industry. With this structure, recruiters worked with each other on placing candidates, so a job seeker may end up working with three different recruiters on three different job openings. Finally, over 15 years ago, Jim developed an interactive website so that job seekers can input keywords to search for a job, similar to Google searches today.
Every Friday, Engineering Resource Group provides a free in-house seminar to engineers seeking positions. Based on their experience with 3,700 successful placements of engineering and engineering support personnel, they draw from their experience and expertise to discuss resume writing and what to do (and what not to do) during an interview. If you would like to attend their seminar, feel free to contact Jim or Allan at (973) 490-7000.
